Kennedys Pay It Forward in Hopes of Encouraging Students

Larry Kennedy, a 1971 business administration graduate, and his wife Maryann, from Solon, Ohio, have established an endowed scholarship that supports a student who has a 2.5 grade point average and is a business major. The student lounge and digital classroom in the renovated Ford Hall are named in their honor, and the couple will continue to support Trine University through their estate plan. Maryann received a $400 scholarship that helped her attend college, and that has inspired the Kennedys to help students reach their full potential and eventually help others through a college education. About 35 students, to date, have been assisted in their Trine education by The Lawrence D. and Maryann Z. Kennedy Scholarship. Larry says his dream is that one day a Kennedy Scholarship recipient will be inspired to fund their own scholarship to assist students in receiving an education at Trine.
